Free Range Artists Farms

Peter Eyers visit resulted in an interesting task about funding in which we were split into two groups, private and public and had to come up with different systems of supporting an art practice. Being part of the private / corporate group was a novelty, inevitably throwing up different questions around control, ethics and selling out. The result was the ‘Free Range Artists Farm’ where artists were looked after, free to roam and not forced to make too much work. Individuals, businesses and corporations could donate or buy into the farm. There would be various possibilties for rewards including access to artists time, skills, commissioning & collaboration, part ownership of work, general brand kudos and so on. Also, myself and Ellie Harrison have been working on some ideas for the touchscreens which we plan to start tomorrow around cleaning dirt off domestic appliances.
