Lalya Gaye is is a Swedish-Senegalese-Malian digital media artist and interaction designer based in Newcastle upon Tyne. She is the founder and director of Attaya Projects, a creative platform for digital media arts collaborations, working both nationally and internationally. Lalya has a background in engineering, physics and interaction design, and extensive experience in interdisciplinary collaborations and project management. She is interested in the poetic and creative space between the physical and the digital, and works primarily with light, sound, steel, everyday objects, urban space and interactive electronics. Lalya has worked and exhibited internationally, including at the Festival of Light in Lyon. In 2014, she has created interactive work for DLI Art Gallery in Durham, is involved with multiple local festivals and workshops and is taking part in the European project Corners.
