{"id":93,"date":"2010-09-23T15:04:50","date_gmt":"2010-09-23T15:04:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.digitalmedialabs.org\/?p=93"},"modified":"2010-09-23T15:04:50","modified_gmt":"2010-09-23T15:04:50","slug":"david-priestman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.digitalmedialabs.org\/HULL2010\/?p=93","title":{"rendered":"David Priestman"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.digitalmedialabs.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/david-priestman.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-94\" src=\"http:\/\/www.digitalmedialabs.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/david-priestman.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>My work has essentially taken two forms: filmmaking and installation.<\/p>\n<p>My films are short experimental works that mainly consider subjects such as structural form, post-structuralism, the home movie story, and the fairy tale.\u00a0 I have particularly considered the relationship between human beings and the notion of \u2018environment\u2019 (the spaces we occupy), and explored this interaction both over a given time frame and within a permanent space.<\/p>\n<p>My installation work looks at the projection of film itself, questioning how a viewer perceives both looking at a projection and the subject matter itself.<\/p>\n<p>More recent work has taken me into larger scale installation work, transforming an entire gallery space into a completely created environment(s), where those entering the space are encouraged to move and participate in a changed space.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My work has essentially taken two forms: filmmaking and installation.
