Why didn’y you tell me that my invisibility cloak wasn’t working?

Artist Name
Neil Winterburn

So today we went for a walk to see the BAE side of Barrow and the view to the island. Both were stunning for different reasons.

That the BAE sheds & factories are bang in the middle of the town

Spent a really enjoyable few hours hunting for bizzaare objects in Barrows chazza’s and had loads of fun devising a performance in which Victoria and I were anthropologists from the future sent back to net the last few un-commodified aspects of peoples identities remaining on Benedict and Mark. What can I say, the rest of the group have sold their souls aready, ha ha : )

As we were preparing our performance, we got most into pretending to be invisible and using the Barbie walkie talkies. So we have decided to work together to create a set of off network communication systems (or maybe even games) across the park.

We’re planning to create a few experiments as we go through the week.

We’re aiming to make systems that make use of anonymity, mistranslation, role-playing encourage people to take a playful approach to commuicating with other people in the park.

I’m quite excited about setting up some communication systems  that allows people to position physical tokens featuring either text or some form of prompts to add more content to the system. A bit like a notice board, but with opportunity to add different kinds of prompts to it.  I might have to run a few lo-fi experiments first.
